About 5 years ago I started a gratitude journal and committed to writing down 10 things I was grateful for every single night.
I am proud to say I have written through dozens and dozens of journals .
There was lots of big stuff : precious time with family, life-changing trips ,
my dad surviving and thriving after multiple trips to the hospital, my boys’ happiness.
But It didn’t have to be anything big – comfy sheets, hugs from the kids, dogs snoring contently
next to me , laughs with a good friend – I wrote all of it down.
I can’t overemphasize how life changing this practice has been.
I learned that the deeper my appreciation got the more my perspective on the world changed.
And the more my perspective changed the more I was able to lean into gratitude for EVERYTHING that came my way – the good, the bad and the ugly !!
This isn’t just woo hoo stuff – scientific studies show time and time again that when people consciously focus on gratitude they experience more emotional well-being and physical health than those who don’t.
So here’s my challenge to you : commit to writing 3 gratitudes(more if you can ) – no matter how big or small – in a journal EVERY DAY for a month. What we focus on grows – by expressing daily gratitude we’re inviting the universe to give us more !!
Comment below if you’re taking me up on my challenge !! Would love to hear about it !!!
Happy grateful Wednesday friends !
